Director Nyasha Kadandara and Producer Bramwel Iro are taking part in the Durban Filmmart 2021 finance forum.
Nyasha's "Come Sunrise, We Shall Rule" tells the story of a disempowered but ambitious teenage girl living in colonial Zimbabwe who is desperate to contribute to her country’s liberation, but from the moment she becomes an informant for the resistance, she quickly realises the regime is not her only enemy.
Currently in development, the project has brought onboard producer Sue Ellen Chitunya to join the team.
This year’s FilmMart themed, 'Disrupt! The shape of stories to come' includes a diverse mix of emerging African talent alongside well-established filmmakers from across the continent.
Participating African countries include the Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa, Swaziland, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
We look forward to the pitch that is going to run from 16th to 25th July!
