The feature film project Enkop (The Soil), directed by Angela Wamai and produced by Bramwel Iro, is currently in Phase One of casting. Following development support from the Hubert Bals Fund and a selection for IFFR CineMart, the project is transitioning from script development to finding its cast.
We are working with casting director Gerald Langiri to review submissions and fill the roles. The film is a dramatic story set within a frontier ranching town, so the characters require real depth and authenticity. We are looking for performers fluent in English, Swahili, Kikuyu, and Maa across 18 distinct roles.
Key Details:
- Focus: Core family and primary supporting characters.
- Requirements: Emotional depth, availability for coaching/rehearsals, and specific language skills depending on the role.
- Status: Applications officially closed on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, and the review and selection process is now underway.

Thank you to everyone who sent in their applications. We are currently going through submissions.
